I just replaced the hot and cold water faucets in my attached garage

I am looking for ideas on how to connect both, at one time, to a garden hose.......so that I can use a mixture of water temps

Is there a Y style attachment or a fitting available?

The washing machine mixer hose was the only thing I was able to come up with also

Will it hold up over time?

Sure it will. And if the WYE don't last over a year, you will only be out $7.00. The largest problem I can see is getting the working hose taken off and put back on by hand without it leaking.

Probably have to keep a pair of Channelock plier's handy, if the working hose has to be removed a lot.

I looked around the internet alot last night, surprised there isn't a braided steel version of the Y

My goal is to slide a smaller, lower profile storage tote (minus the lid) under the shelf where the two spigots are and use a small lightweight hose laying inside the tote, long enough to reach out of the garage and into the driveway for hosing down bikes, mower, and my kid

Any comments on those lightweight Pocket Hoses?

Just my experience with the "expanding" hoses. I have had 2 of them and they both blew apart within two months of use.

That stinks, I have read about a lot of failures with the expanding hoses..........not worth it I guess

I think they sell a light weight hose version?

I think you’ll be surprised how long those wyes will last, but you could get a steam dryer mixing kit or just by the pieces and make your own.

If you use that Y, make sure you throw on some backflow preventers on each one. Otherwise, if you have the hose end off, but the valves open, you can have hot water circulating into your cold (and vice versa).

Thanks for posting this idea. I'm going to be adding an outdoor faucet in near future. I was going to use separate frost protecting faucet bibs, but having the option of adjusting the temperature at the point of use would be helpful.....

Woodford makes a few different configurations of the mixing faucet-

$115 is cheap insurance compared to the likelihood of at least one of 5 connections going south when you're not home. Granted, you'd most likely have both valves off- but there's always that time when the water gets left on when there's a nozzle attached to the end- out of site, out of mind!

Everything is installed and works great

The hose is light enough that my daughter can maneuver it and also put it away

The nozzle and the hose both have lifetime warranties

I might get a slight deeper bin, if needed

Not a concern, the garage is heated and never drops below 47

Bottles of water are left in the garage, on the floor, all winter long and never ice up
