Are you looking for something like a composting toilet for a house or a cabin? They work pretty well for what they do.

I have seen.....used....a waterless urinal at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. Initially you would expect an odor with out the flush water but there was not any. Who would have thought?

I looked into these pretty hard for my dad and if they smell it usually came down to a maintenance issue. The cartridges are rated for a specific flow and they can not be stretched pass that. There was a state park reporting smell very quickly but it was the maintenance worker who was dumping the mop bucket into the urinals completely wasting life of the cartridges.

They work well for what they are designed to do.

I hear cleaning the filter part is really nasty...Never done it but...I think i will walk to the house...

I have NEVER had any odor from mine.

As far as "cleaning" the filter goes...not sure which brand you are talking about, but most of them have a REPLACEABLE filter that you just pop out and change. VERY simple procedure. The urinal comes with a propriatery tool to change the filter and you never even touch it.

I would not hesitate to install more of these if future needs arise around any of my homes.

I have seen a lot of Sloan waterless urinals in restaurants, building supply bathrooms and other commercial locations. Never seems to be a smell and they always work excellently. I have no personal experience with maintenance, have just used them for their purpose.

I keep a thetford boat toilet in my shop, has water up top that you pump to rinse. I only used it one time when I absolutely could not make it to the house and I was VERY happy I had it. Normally I piss outside on the ground.

Funnel with a hose to a outside tile. Works well unless you need to dump

We have the Sloan water-less urinals at work. The only time they seem to have problems or get clogged/backed up is when idiots spit saliva, spit sunflower seeds, or ash their cigs in them... that will clog them up fast and cause odor. There use to be a sign that said no spitting in the urinals but it has since been removed. Other than that, they seem to work very well.
