Waterloo Branded Toolboxes Still Exist?

I've had a box on order through Zoro for several months. They haven't been able to supply it and are beginning to suggest that they may not be producing boxes anymore with their name on them since SBD buyout. I'm pretty sure they are using their capacity to make new Lowe's Craftsman at this point.

Anyone know if they will return or if I should cancel the order? Essentially all their boxes on Zoro are backordered or not in stock. They claim 11 days to ship but I've verified that is inaccurate.

At the very least I need some spare parts for one of my boxes. But their website leads to SBD now, no contact info for Waterloo anymore. Does anyone have a phone number for them from early 2018 when it was still posted? Sears parts direct has discontinued all the parts stating manufacturer no longer supplies. Sounds more and more like the line is dead and any parts will need to be fabricated, but would like to talk to Waterloo directly (not just SBD they don't have any answers) before I go that route. The box was still being manufactured in 2018 and uses parts interchangeable with the whole line so I'd assume someone still has spares for it?

I was wondering too. I've got one of the 26" combos w Griplatch from ~'03 and it's SUCH an excellent box. The drawer slides are amazing empty or weighted and the Griplatch mechanism is well-weighted with a positive feel. Later Griplatch models felt light and vague

Sorry, looks like not since SBD bought them out. If you go to their website, it points you to either DeWalt, Craftsman or Stanley for tool storage. Sad

Give this phone number a try. It’s a direct Waterloo number I used a few months ago to order parts for my Craftsman floor cabinet. I’m assuming the number is still good.

That’s too bad if they stopped making their Waterloo line. I have the Waterloo HD edition and it’s the perfect fit between a box store brand and tool truck.

For some reason they weren’t popular....

My first boxes were Waterloo. I bought them in the late 80s and they were identical to Mac at the time. Red, with friction slide drawers. The mid and upper boxes weren't the full depth as the bottom box but this was common at the time. I gave them to a friend 15 yrs ago and he still has them, vintage stickers and all :)

I just pulled up the Waterloo website and it states that they've been acquired by the Stanley Black & Decker company. It said to click on one of their brands below....and it listed DeWalt, Craftsman and Stanley.

I found this interesting because my local hardware store (a local, "real" hardware store with everything you could ever need) used to sell Waterloo boxes. Recently, they had a couple models on closeout and I saw a big, DeWalt tool chest on display...

It all makes some sense now...

As far as I know, Waterloo was the main manufacturer for Craftsman, Husky, DeWalt, and Milwaukee tool boxes. My Husky box is definitely identical to my Waterloo of the same vintage. My only regret is not buying the remaining Waterloo USA made boxes my local heavy tool dealer had a couple years back.

Yeah, really. Then again, many of the parts have to be interchangeable, right? Drawer slides, maybe hinges...I'm kicking myself for not getting a Waterloo 10 years ago. They seemed to be on the upper end of quality and price, but not the astronomical figures a Snap-on demands.

I'm in a real quandary with a base cabinet purchase. Part of me gets all hung up on buying "old school American"....like trying to find a nice Snap-on on craigslist or something. Prices are astronomical.

I ended up with a top chest made by Extreme Tools. Its served me well the past 6 years or so in my home shop. I think the bottom drawer was overloaded for several years and I just took out a couple pipe wrenches that didn't need to be there. Point being, its held up very well and the drawers are still solid.

My local hardware store has a nice DeWalt top and bottom 42" (or thereabouts) on display and it seems decent. I don't know......I want something that will not get all weak and wobbly in a few years....

Then I'm hearing the U.S. General brand at HF is getting good reviews....I've never stepped foot inside HF. Dare I go look? I don't mean to sound like a tool snob, I just always shopped at my local store that sells good brands.

It’s all Stanley Black & Decker now but WaTerloo still exists, I buy and sell their medical carts all the time.

Purchased by the Bergmann Group in 2001, Waterloo Healthcare continues a tradition of creating the most innovative and reliable medical carts on the market.

Waterloo Healthcare Medical Carts

Ah, ok. I was under the impression they absorbed the brand into the others.

As noted above Bergman purchased Waterloo Healthcare in 2001.

Your already aware that Stanley purchased Waterloo industries in 2017.
