I view threads on this forum all the time but I cannot find anything about Waterloo Professional HD toolboxes. These are not your average poorly crafted Waterloo boxes based on their specifications but I have never seen any in person. Does anyone have any knowledge about them? They have 200 lbs. slides, their casters hold around a thousand lbs a piece (there are 6 on their 56" model), and their 30 inches deep. The only problem is their country of origin. In order to have comparable specs you need to step up to a Macsimizer or Snap on Master series which are more than three times as expensive. Just wanting to know if anyone has first hand experience with them or if I should continue patrolling Craigslist for a Macsimizer.

I do believe Cornwell boxes and Craftsman industrial/ professional are based on the Waterloo pro HD boxes. I know the Cornwell boxes are top notch and almost bought one 2 years ago.

Anderson bros. In new castle pa is getting a bunch of craftsman professional hold over boxes 56" at fat prices.

They are being sold to Anderson bros by a waterloo rep....fruit for thought.

Hardware Sales has the Waterloo Pro HD boxes listed on Amazon and their own site. Elitetoolboxes also has recently listed them.

They are the same as the Craftsman Industrial boxes although the 36" roller cabinet has one fewer drawers than the Waterloo. The Craftsman version has a lifetime warranty whereas the Waterloo is 10 years.

Really boils down to which brand you can get a better deal on.

The Waterloo HD series are the new Magnum line. Magnum has been gone for more than a few years now. I don't think there's much information here because many people love the Horror Freight boxes, or the truck brands.:dunno:

I think the Waterloo HD series is a great box but, then I only view a box as being a home for my tools which are the real money makers.
My understanding is that the boxes are made in Mexico. I played with them at the recent SEMA show and they seemed very strong and well made.
The main issue with buying a non truck brand box is support. Of course, if you don't have a regular truck brand dealer that support might be limited but, lift supports and drawer slides do wear out or get damaged and need to be replaced. The Waterloo HD units come with a limited 10 year warranty. You can only get two colors red or black. I've always thought the Waterloo HD/Magnum was a solidly built box that offered quality and value. It does face more competition today but, I still feel it would serve a tech well.

You may be better off getting a Mac/Snap-On/Matco due to support and/or getting something fixed if needed.

Really like the new MAC tool carts they are SOLID.

I'm looking at the 56" Waterloo Professional HD box. has there been anymore experience with it? (It seems to have high load capacity so I could get all my tools into one box).

There are some great reviews on the craftsman version. Also if the op is still following I looked at a macsimizer & it's in a different category than any other box I've seen. If you can wait I would. Only dislike was it was too tall to use as a work bench. I'm 5'10" & the top was chest high. It was the 68" so maybe the smaller ones are shorter.

I will echo the sentiments of the Macsimizer. I have the 3-drawer tool cart with the top that both slides open as well as opening upwards like a standard tool chest. I have drawers with a lot of weight in them and they roll like a dream. My only real complaint about it is that it needs a lot of space to open the top and get to the tools in the back of the open compartment, and at the hospital space is in high demand. I am planning on selling it and replacing it with a smaller cart that is more usable for what I do.
