WaterLoo tool chest?

Waterloo makes Craftsman tool boxes as well as some Husky and other brands. They usually have replacement parts available, but I'm not sure what they cost or what info is needed.

Waterloo will have better customer service and parts availability than any of the companies they manufactured for. Call them and tell them the dimensions of your slides, they should be able to help. If they can't start there, a frontal picture of the box might give them something to work from.

Yeah, because they make the classic Craftsman boxes Waterloo made boxes are some of the most common ones out there. I have one.

I've dealt with both and I prefer Waterloo every day of the week and twice on Sundays! I've had nothing but great experiences with Waterloo's customer service group and when comparing prices they are cheaper on parts AND shipping. Plus they made the parts or vended them out so why cut Sears into the picture?
I spoke with WaterLoo customer service and they tell me that I can not replace the friction slides that I have with ball bearings.
That was my whole intent because the friction slides I currently have hang a lot and its hard to open the drawers.
Guess I will just have to live with it or replace the whole box when I get some extra money.

No, that is never possible. I wondered why you wanted to replace friction slides - There isn't much to go wrong, other than getting bent, which you can usually do a fair job of straightening.
Take them out, inspect and straighten, clean. Search on here for what to use for a lubricant. Some people love friction slides.

Unless the box means something to you because your dad owned it, my advice is to not put any money into it, sell it and get something better.

Friction slides are pretty simple and have been used on toolchests for years, usually with few problems. The are pretty reliable.
Generally, the only problems with friction slides are they either get bent or they get dirty. You should be able to easily straighten out any slide dents or bends with little difficulty. If you remove the drawers you should be able to thoroughly clean the slides on the drawers and in the chest.
Clean them up, straighten out any damage, give them a light greasing, and the slides should be good for another decade.

If you happen to lose a retaining clip, either ask this forum or Waterloo. That item is so common that the part number is well known. It has been redesigned and looks different from original, but is functionally identical. They aren't expensive.
