Hello,

I have a detached garage constructed of concrete block. When it rains the blocks hold a lot of moisture, and my garage gets very damp. What is a good waterproofing sealant to apply to the outside of the block? Ideally I want something that I can spray on using a pump sprayer, or roll on. I want something that will dry clear. Any suggestions?

I'm taking it that you are talking about a block garage with walls of block at 8' or more? If that is the case, then you want to use a waterproofing paint or something like stucco on the outside that has waterproofing additives. You could use something like UGL for waterproofing but that is normally for the inside. As far as drying clear, I'd check with a concrete company to see what they recommend. Normally a concrete block building is covered with something that prevents water penetration but I have never saw anything in a clear.

You may want to jump up to the flooring section on here and see what the resident floor experts recommend. There are a few people that work for floor covering companies that may be able to steer you in the right direction as they work with coverings for concrete at all levels.

Great. Thanks for the suggestions! To Kevin, yes the garage walls areabout 8' tall constructed of concrete block. No protection from moisture on the outside. Thanks again for the suggestions.
