Ok . Can waves that spread out over 6 feet be smoothed? Assume anything wider than grinder itself wont be able to get perfectly straight, unless i put some kind of outriggers on grinder to keep flat over a wider area. Took a 6 foot level and can see some daylight in places. If they can't I might just grind myself. Also on a 41x71 what is the best way to lay down epoxy? 30 minute window and clear within so many hours. What would be a guess on time per coat? Can I get first coat complete before I run out of time to clear from where I started? If I grind myself I can get all the good stuff.

Dave, you need to add a few bodies to make it easier on yourself.
However it is 7 hours from primer to base, 10 hours base to clear.

Remember, these very coatings are used to coat warehouse floors and airplane hangars . Your 3000 sq ft will be a cake-walk in comparison .

Plan on about a straight 24 hour run. Done that on car projects. No prob. What about the waves?

Only if you do a full broadcast. Which in your case would be approx. 420 pounds of flake.

I would go 25-30 pounds on your floor.

Remarkably, very few floors are "flat".

360 per week isn't bad. What grit do I want for it? How many extra disc would I need for my square foot? What am I looking for as for texture? As long as it is all scuffed is that what I'm going for?

Need to open it up, not grind to China. Finish is subjective unless you are shot-blasting. Does it absorb water easily?

Just knocking the highs off and blending it. With the little grinder I just opened it a little and can see the pea gravel. What grit should i ask for when I pick it up. Do I check the floor and see if it will absorb fast. Assume that means its open

Less than 100, more than 25. 50 would be good.

True. When we were looking at houses. I had fun with contractors. They would brag about how great there house was. I would point out that one outlet was higher than the other. He said no it isn't. He got his tape measure out and found an 1/8th difference from on wall to the next. Things like that just jump out at me without even trying. My wife just laughs. Saw a run in the clear under our spoiler on my new trans am on the showroom floor. I wasn't looking, it was like a flashing light. Had to get a flashlight to show the salesman. He couldn't see it.

I thought I was on to something there! Well, you have the thought processes going for you for sure!

Forget being so picky. You can drive yourself crazy. Unless you have ridges in the concrete I would not worry about a little out of flat.

What concerns me is how damp is your area. If you don't have deep foundations and it is a slap in a pole barn then you could have problems. If the area is damp and moisture comes up form the ground the concrete needs to breath. If you have deep footings for frost than you might not have problems. Moisture evaporates through concrete. I many cases you want it sealed but it is dry inside and there are deep footings.

I guess I am so old that I think it is a total waste of money and time. If you want a show garage that is a different story. I would just seal it and start working.

If it wasn't such a sloppy pour I would just leave it alone. I have 2 inch foam under and around the sides 2 foot deep. It just looks so horrble for 10,500 bucks. I am over picky paul thats for sure. Going to be building high end street rods and want my reputation and quality to speak for itself
