I have a 10 layer epoxy floor and I love it. Its got some surface scratches and such and I was wondering if I could buff it up with some floor wax.

Its about a year old now, and I am not really sure what I should be using. I generally use pine sol or Mr Clean and a mop and bucket.

I am sure there are some Epoxy pros out there. Can you recommend a floor wax that will not harm the 3 layer Urethane top coat?

Maybe just try rubbing compound on the scratches ?

The scratches aren't bad, but they do add up. My garage is a working garage, its not a showroom. Granted, it may look like a showroom sometimes.

The scratches don't make it through the urethane top coat.

It just has some scratches that you can see in different angles of light. I would like to fill them, and was thinking that a coat of wax and a buffer might do the job.

Anyone have any experience waxing an epoxy floor with urethane top coat?

i know this is an old thread but there was never and answer. this is the same problem that i and faced with and i did not want to start a new thread. so if there is anyone that can help out. i have a one year old epoxy floor that has some scuffs on it and was wondring if waxing it is a good idea. if not what is a good idea to do just so that it cleans it up and brings back some of the shine. i know i can lightily sand it and re clear coat it but that is to much for a yearly thing.

any sugestions?

Sounds like a great way to produce a slippery floor.

Take an old piece of carpet and mount it to a floor buffer pile down. Take simple green and buff the floor. Rinse with wet mop and let dry. That is the we have found to clean an epoxy floor. Floor pads that I used tend to scratch the urethane.

Good luck.

I have been using Johnson and Johnson floor wax in spots.

It definitely makes it look a bit better, but also makes it slippery when wet.
