Got this old 2 stage Wayne compressor. Had a 2HP motor but not sure if that was the original spec.

Definitely oversized for my needs, looking to make it run the slowest for sound/temp by wiring it to a treadmill motor+VFD I pulled from a scrapped commercial treadmill.

Looking for info - mainly minimum RPM (for lubrication)

Most compressor pumps specify a minimum pump RPM of 400.

Watch your torque output from the motor using the VFD at low speeds - torque in a motor is directly proportional to current. There is no free lunch.

Thanks for the input, will keep it in mind. I guess I could always gear it down further to run the motor faster if needed
