Wayne Dalton Garage Door Torquemaster spring adjustment question

I am pretty good at winding and unwinding the TorqueMaster springs on my single garage door. I have everything perfect.

On my double garage door I was surprised to see 2 adjustments. Can I follow the process for unwinding the springs one at a time or do I have to keep moving the ladder back and forth for each turn. Same with tightening.

Thanks for any info.

I don't work for them, but I have several of those doors. I think you can unwind one side fully. Those two springs just try (independently) to twist the tube, and it's strong enough to deal with that.

I think you'll see the cables lose a little tension when you do one side.

What about tightening? Any thoughts there? That is alot easier but I hate going up and down the ladder.

Thanks. Wayne Dalton folks used to be a phone call away where they would patiently walk me through things. Now I get referred to a local dealer.

Pretty sure I did one side at a time.... actually I know I did one side at a time. The last door I put up had 2 springs, the other doors were older with one spring.

Sorry, I thought it was obvious the forces are the same, just at different times. The tube is strong enough to fully deal with one side tight all the way and one side full unwound, so do whatever you want.

Not obvious if I didn't bother to think it through. I appreciate it.
