Who's got one?

With my garage doors going in this Friday my installer (OverHead Doors) mentioned this as an option. However, based on the research I did here on the internet there seems to be problems with them as well as the perception that Wayne Dalton does not seem to stand behind there products.

Thats good to hear because I love the design. Do you happen to have electrical tool/equipment/lift in the garage? I read where other electrical interference causes problems with the unit?

We have a lift master, and a big one but it lifts a 2 car wide door, and effortlessly might I add. It was expensive but its been going on like 7 or 8 years, and not problems, just the occasional burnt out bulb.

I've had my iDrive for about 1.5 years now and have had zero problems. I had it put in at the same time as my new Wayne Dalton garage doors and the system works flawlessly. No problem programming my homelink transmitter to work with it either.

my builder is installing the iDrive next month on my new house and garage, i have the WD doors so i only need the torquemaster, i only wish the keypad was better designed with a cover. there customer service does ****, try calling them and your on hold for a very long time, leave a message or even email and they don't return messages either.

the builder did say put a surge protector on the outlet, the reason is that the circuit boards are very sensitive and that's the failures he has seen.

About 3 years ago I had 2 Idrives installed the same time I upgraded my 18 year doors to WD's.

One failed in about 2 days and WD replaced the unit the next day. I had some minor trouble with the other one a few months ago and WD fixed it and did not charge me for the call. Other than that they work flawlessly.

I also had WD install a door on my shop outback. I plan on having them install an Idrive in just a few days.

Their service has always been excellent in Tempe, AZ
