Recently had the springs break on my Wayne Dalton torque master. Wondering if I should replace the springs or convert to a traditional torque system?

Thanks!

Does it even matter which one you have? Just wondering if the springs on the inside versus the springs on the outside made a difference?

I would convert them to torsion. They typically last longer and if you wanted to go to the 3800 you can.

I'm glad somebody brought this up since I've been thinking about converting to put in a 3800. Does anyone have any links to a decent vendor to purchase a complete conversion kit from?

Also, does anyone have any experience with using winders so that you don't have to work with the bars at the middle of the bar? Here's what I'm talking about:

I'd love to get some of these for the ease of use.

for the first question, change to a standard torsion setup, end of story.

For the question about the spring winder, I used a couple of those exact models that were sent to me as samples several years ago. They worked and they were pretty easy to use, but there is no way I would spend that kind of $$$ on them.

The problem with getting a kit online is the shaft. Hard to ship something that long depending on the size of the door. You can likely find a local company to sell you one though.
