Wayne Dalton Top mount opener

Well my Idrive died on me. I'm in the process of installing a Chamberlain belt drive opener.

Problem:
I have a Wayne Dalton garage door so I have to mount the opener connection on top of the door using a top mount bracket. The mount on the door itself pulled away when I tried to use it.

I'm looking for any tips on mounting the top bracket and connecting it to the opener. I've been told to use the straight bar from the mount to the opener and not connect the curve bar at all. Also I would have to shorten the straight bar to make it work.

Any and all suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

That Wayne Dalton I drive is garbage. Mine went out right after the warranty expired, I feel your pain. Don't know if this will help, but here goes.
