Are they worth having? How often do you really use them? This would be on the farm use so I don't expect to use them everyday but several times a month is a safe expectation of usage.

I have a set. I bought them to use on my tractors. I like them and think they are handy to have.

I have a set, and while I don't use them all that frequently, they can definitely be useful to have around.

I have seen them, but never bought them. The sets I saw never go big enough for most of the fittings I deal with.

It also seems like most sets are 3/8 drive which wouldnt cut it for what im working with.

Snappy makes three bigger sizes in 1/2" drive. :D

Why not just use a wrench?

Because a wrench won't swing in some places, and on soft fittings, a regular wrench or crowsfoot may/can/will crush or deform the fitting. Lots more surface area with a weatherhead socket.

I use mine quite a bit. For certain apps, there is no finer tool.

FYI......Snap-on, Mac and Cornwell offer these in 3/8" drive and Snappy has a few of them in 1/2" drive. I'm not sure who else offers them.

I worked on a dairy farm for 30+ years and an Ag dealership for 5 years and never needed those sockets. A snap on 4 way angle wrench would work better, and get more use out of, over the weatherhead sockets.

i have a couple laying around i bought many years ago.
i had a large project (and a short time span) installing onboard centralized grease systems on 10 big vibratory rollers.

not having to remove components to install adapters to run grease lines saved me time, and brought the whole installation in way under what was quoted.
made for a tidy profit on a job we were destined to loose money on.

only downside was i havent touched them since :wtf:

If anyone has ever changed the pushloc air fittings on the governor of an ISX in an International you could see where one would come in real handy...

I've got a complete set and they are nice to have on the 90-degree brass fittings. Never in a million years would I pay current Snap-on retail for them.

I use them on the farm at least 3 times a week. Mine are snap-on but a friend uses sunex and he thinks they are great.
