Webster Model 60?

I recently purchased a old Webster compressor, I think it is a model 60 based on previous thread saying the first to digits on the serial number(601078) is the model number. It came with a 2HP-1800rpm Doeer motor that had the smoke escape.

Does anyone have information on this compressor, what speed range, motor size range needed. I could just throw a new 2 HP on there with the original sheave, but if the pump is good for 3 or 5, I would bump up the speed and do that.

If anyone had a manual they could share it would be greatly appreciated. Also is this thing any good at all? I got it as part of a package deal where I was buying a DeVilbiss 432 that I plan to rebuild.

PS The old Doeer motor pulls 13.5A at 230V, sound to me more like a 3hp or a really inefficient 2hp.

Some Additional Info and pics
It looks like a 2 stage with poppet style valves, although one or the valves appears to be a white plastic. The motor sheave was a 5" and pump sheave is ~16.5" so the pump was running around 500-550rpm. I'm assuming it will work with a new motor, as there was still over 100PSI in the tank when I went to pick it up. The tank is rated for 200PSI, but we'll see if it survives a hydro test before we run it.

So I ordered a new 5hp Leeson for the DeVilbiss 432, but am going to try it on this Webster until I get the 432 rebuilt. Looking at the mag starter that came with the 432, its old GE CR206APY and has an extra part that I don't recognise. Can anyone tell me what it's for (circled in blue in the picture)? It kind of appears to be a circuit breaker. It also has a HOA switch which seems to be able to automatically reset on thermal overload, but I think I'll replace that with a regular on/off switch. Would a SPST switch for a 1/2hp motor be sufficient to handle actuating the coil? I assume it takes very little amperage to actuate.
Also still looking for info on this Webster if anyone can comment.

Yeah, that was a terrible picture, I replaced it with a better one. I try over there in electrical, and bump this back up, hopefully some can comment on the compressor itself.

You are correct, it is a Model 60. I seem to recall putting Webster valves in a Salor Beall knockoff compressor years ago, so you might be able to go the other way. As for parts, I no longer have any leads for Webster parts, they seem to have dried up. These are pretty simple machines though. They would wear out their conrod small ends, but that could be re-bushed. Worn big ends could be taken up by lapping the rod caps, since they ran the rods directly on the crank journal with no inserts. Rings can probably be gotten from Hastings by using the dimensions and cross referencing them to something else. They are pretty robust machines but I personally wouldn't put a whole lot of time into resurrecting one.

I think I'll just run it till it stops or until the 432 is ready to go. Do you recall the speed range for this compressor? I'm putting 5hp-4pole where a 2hp-4pole was , so I was thinking I could bump up the speed to 800-900 rpm without running out of power, not sure the pump is designed to run that fast though.

Well it crapped out, before I had time to rebuild or test the Devilbiss pump, so I'm going to test Mac's memory and pick up some valves for a Saylor Beal knock-off. It appears the 703/705 valves are what he was reffering to, as they appear to be identical. They are pretty cheap and I hate to let the old girl die due broken valve disc. I'll post how it goes in case someone else is working on one of these in the future. I was able to remove all the valves except the broken HP intake with a couple adjustable wrenches and a 3/8" x 1" flatbar. I had to make a custom bolt down slugger wrench for the HP intake valve. I tried making a tool out of a 1" bolt and just grinding two flats on it, but like the flatbar, it kept camming out. Bolting the tool to the valve seemed to work well.
PS The air receiver for the Devilbiss pressure tested good to 325PSI, and is now painted and ready.

Did those valves work properly?

I just bought a used model 60, looks identical. Mine came with a tag that says 850 RPM max, 350 rpm minimum in case you were still wondering. Any idea how much air it puts out or what the displacement is?
