I had mine cut off yesterday. Been on for 37+ years. 14k white gold.

Was stupid and welding with right hand. Left hand did not have glove on.

Weld splatter flew and landed exactly on my ring instantly heating it to an inferno! Nice skin burn on finger at the ring region. Was a nice blob of weld bead fused to the ring. I quickly went to the sink and ran cold water over it. I then used my belt sander to buzz off the weld bead.

Ring was extremely tight anyway and could not be removed. Wife has been after me for some time to get it cut off and resized.

Well, yesterday I finally listened to her. Figured it would also help the weld burn heal better.

Jeweler cut it off no charge. Said that it typically takes a month or more for the finger to return to normal size. Obviously, the weld burn is a separate problem.

Interesting. Up until just now, I’ve never heard of someone who feels that strongly about eating cake. Is it the texture? I assume you like cookies or not? Inquiring minds want to know. 😎
I’m just not a sweets person. Having said that, I do like soda, and my morning cup of coffee is more like a cup of sugar with some coffee added. I hate chocolate, too. Not sure how anyone can eat it. I will occasionally eat cookies, but I’m not going out of my way for them. They have to be kind of crunchy, can’t do those soft cookies. I’ve been vegan for almost 2 decades, and not being into that stuff makes it very easy. I don’t drink either. I’m on the spectrum if that helps with the explanation.

As soon as the officiator at my wedding said “I now pronounce you…” my ring was off. I handed it to my wife and haven’t seen it since. I can’t stand jewelry. When I bought it I asked for the cheapest thing they had. Stainless steel. When we cut the cake I pretended to eat a bite. I can’t stand cake either. Almost 19 years and still going.
Mine was bought stayed on a bit longer than yours , first time I got it caught it came off has been living on my car keys since 1983
only ring I have made was out of bronze , a work mate. lost his and did not want to tell his wife , I still think is wearing it

I've only recently taken mine off in favor of a black rubber silicone ring. I'm in the garage too much to be taking a ring off and on all the time, and it seems I'm always doing something where wearing a metal ring is a bad idea.
