I bought a used Poulan chainsaw. It seem to be mechanically sound, but it is extremely lean. It bogs and won't take WOT. I want to adjust the carburetor, but it has some external spline high and low screws. It seems to be an obsolete tool. I found them online for $39:wtf: Anybody know any cheap cheats or where to buy the tool for less?

Edit: I got it running well by pulling the carb about 5 times and adjusting the screws with needle nose pliers, but I'd still like to be adjust the carb with the saw running. I may just pull the screws and slot them himself.

You can buy them for less than $10 on eBay. I slotted the first on I worked on and then bought the tool. I have used it many times since, no regrets.

It's the same spline tool as Husqvarna et cetera. They used to be $12 on ebay a few months ago, but the prices have gone crazy lately. Keep an eye open and wait it out. The prices will come back down to the teens again at some point.

$39.50 shipped is about the cheapest you're gonna find.

Special tools are always expensive.
