I've only recently discovered the joy of pawn shops, and I think I'm hooked. Here's what I picked up this weekend. Didn't find any "you ****" items, but I think I got a pretty decent deal. Spent $34 for everything...

-Craftsman 3/8 drive metric set, 6mm-21mm (skip 20mm) with a 3" extension

-Craftsman 43175 3/8 drive ratchet, GREAT shape

-Armstrong 3/8 drive impact sockets, 7mm-22mm (missing 10,11,&13) Little rusty, but I've been looking for some cheep USA metric impacts for a while. Only 3 of these show any use, and my tumbler should clean them up pretty decent.

-7/16" Armstrong impact socket

-Old Owatonna tool company 9/16" 1/2" drive socket (novelty purchase)

-11.5" Challenger 3/8 extension

-Thorsen USA thin 9/16 & 1/2 wrench

-2 little red socket trays I picked up because they were basically free and I thought they were neat.

I'm actually up in Fargo. We have about 5 local shops. The only one that I don't care for is Pawn America. To classy and organized and high priced. I'll take semi organized bin's of assorted .10-1.00$ sockets and people who will negotiate over shiny showcases of overpriced complete sets any day.

Looks like a good score for the tool box addition. Keep shopping, with the money you save, you may even find a seat for your motorcycle.

:spit::spit::spit:
^ I actually almost did that. If you look closely, you'll see that that bike needs a lot more than a seat in that pic. I bought it complete but am doing a cafe build on it and wanted to get a general idea of what I have to work with, hence the striped down pic.

Thanks for reassuring me that my little available tool money was spent at least semi reasonably.

My local pawn shop is a rip off. They had a Cman 3/4" drive ratchet for $89. That is how much it goes for new in the store. Who are they trying to fool?

A buddy of mine went to Vegas and made the stop at Silver and Gold Pawn and he was very disapointed. The place is jammed with T-shirts promoting the show and its characters and other merchandise was way over priced. The leads in the show are hardly ever there except when filming is going on. S
ounds like OCC all over again, doesn't it ?
