Well I am a tool and die apprentice and I keep my eyes open at pawn shops for machinist tools in good shape. I went into a local one, and found these two Mitutoyo dial bore gauges in really nice shape, original boxes with all the manuals. The first one covers 0.7" to 1.4", the second one 1.4" to 2.5" and can be expanded by adding more anvils.
I went in after getting my pay this week to grab them, and on the way in I noticed a weekend special, all tools 50% off! They were asking $165 each, so I got them for $165 total with the half off sale!
The best part was I grabbed them assuming they were the models that are good to 0.0005", but when I had a closer look at home, they read to 0.0001"!
