Finally was able to spend all weekend in the garage and get a few long-awaited projects completed.

Here's the first one:

I borrowed this idea from another GJ member who built a similar one. Now I've got a secure spot to store my propane torches and spare bottles. If I could only find my mapp bottles now...

For some time I've wanted to make my drill press, and all my other equipment a little easier to move around the shop, so I figured I'd get this done too. It's much more stable, AND mobile now.

In the same interest of equipment being easier to move around the shop, I did the same to my recently acquired, HF sheet-metal brake, and blast cabinet. I forgot to take any build progress pics of those additions. But after I built and painted them, they look like they came with the equipment. If any of you have this same brake, you know it can be a little unstable, so I built the cross-brace between the legs too.

I also made a rack with casters for the compressor too, but I just realized I didn't get any pics of it. I'll get some posted later this week.

So, what'd you guys work on this weekend? Let's see some pics!

spent most of it working, today I spent 1/2 the day getting ready and in the parade and the other half directing traffic after it was over.

Wannaride - GREAT work on them projects! Love the heavyduty bottle-holders. This idea can have so many uses....I think I'll put a few together!

Wheels on everything is awesome.

Like I said before, I stole the basic idea from someone here on GJ, but I don't remember who it was. Next weekend, I want to build another one similar to it for my grease guns.

Nice work on the Propane cylinder holders. Any thoughts on also making them out of leftover PVC pipe?

Russ
Yeah, nowhere near as cool looking when done though.

I like your bottle holders, a slight bit overbuilt though
Nope, no such thing as "overbuilt". When I build something, I want it to still function properly when I'm dead and gone. That way, I'll never have to repair it, and can focus on moving forward on other projects.

All that being said... I wouldn't have paid someone to build these. Doing it yourself and having the tools and skills is much more fun. I'm fortunate enough now to be able to just enjoy building "fun" projects.

The next weekend I'm off, I'm going to build a grease-gun rack similar to the propane torch rack.

The casters on everything actually came to me AFTER I painted the floor. The garage is finally nice enough to actually care how it looks, so I wanted to be able to sweep it regularly, and actually mop it a couple times a year. Now, I can pull everything away from the walls and clean the garage properly.

Plus, it just gives the entire shop more diversity for different projects.
