A special thanks to Kia at Racedeck. She did a great job of handling my order.

Here is what my friend Dan and I did on Sunday. Dan has recently done a racedeck floor in his garage and it was the launching pad for me to get my project done. Dan took lead on this project as he had been there and done that before. I must say his ability to cut and measure was invaluable. He really made it all look easy. Here are some photos of this weekends event.
Its not much but its my little working garage.

I had to fill in a side that was sinking with concrete leveler.

In a couple of weeks I will paint the front step. I wanted to line the floor up and install it before painting . I will need to match the pattern on the front of the step.

It looks good. But for some reason the first coarse where you started does not look like it lines up with the rest of the floor. The black looks to be off quite a bit in the pic's.

It doesn't look line up because there's a higher level there that makes it look that way in the pic

The upper portion lines up with the lower exactly. Its just the way the photos look from the elevation. We just shaved off the loops with the table saw at the edge of the tiles on the top step.

I will eventually paint the step. It is a strange optical illusion because when you stand on the upper step it looks like one flat floor. You dont see the step down. I hope no one falls down due to this.

I appreciate the complements.

I am really happy with te end results. Race Deck was very easy to work with.

I agree, looks sharp !
How do you like walking and driving on it by now ?
Anything you would do different ?

In the 2nd pic, is that a Vector or a Lambo kit ?

Thanks guys for all the complements. The floor has been great so far. I would not change a thing. It is very comfortable to walk on and the cars dont seem to have any problems rolling over it.

As for the cars, I have a 1992 Vector W8 Twin Turbo and a 2007 Nissan 350 Z Nismo edition #606 of 1500 built. I worked for Vector back in the 80's and 90's and she is my preservation piece.

I would paint the step all the way across on color, say maybe black. the reason being is that something needs to break up that step. It may look nice that the two blend together to look as one, but it is a definate trip hazard. we have a step like that at work and I don't know how many have tripped, twisted ankles, etc, because they could not distinguish the difference. Bifocals only make it worse. Better to have a safety factor than a broken leg :bounce:

Here are a couple of shots that show off the floor and not the cars, but the cars are in the garage. I have the Vector up on the hoist to expose as much of the floor as possible. Unfortunately it places the suspension at full rebound and makes the car look more like a 4wd car than a Supercar. But you get the idea. I will also post a pic of the Vector sitting outside next to the Nismo 350Z to give you an idea of how low the car sits when on the ground.

Its a Bend Pac low rise hoist. Unfortunately my garage has low celing height and it was the only hoist that I could put in there without going through the roof. It allows me to do 99% of the things I need to on any car I have.

Looks wonderful!

Hey, we met on the FOC Spring Kickoff Drive (the red NSX you followed to Chelsea ;^).

Maybe you need to host some car folks (or be a stop on a drive) so we can admire your work

Hi Brian,

How are you? I guess being a stop on a drive would not be a bad thing, but I am not on any scenic route. So everyone would have to do out of their way to get to my home.

I hope all is well with you.

I hear you, we live on a dirt road (and I know how you feel about those ;))
