Wasn't really looking for one, but I stumbled on this at an estate sale this weekend and couldn't pass it up. Actually, I did pass it up the first day 'cause I thought they wanted too much.
My wife, knowing I was interested gave the lady her number. The next day, the lady called and they worked out a deal and we brought it home for what I felt was a good price. Nice early Father's Day gift!

It's an old Wayne pump that was last used when gas was $0.49/gallon. It looks like someone started a "restoration" by grinding the old decals off the body on both sides and then primered over that, so it's hard to tell the brand.
It does have evidence of green and white stripes, though.
Could it be a Sinclair?
Anyone have an idea?

Man, do i have a great wife! She almost wanted this more than I did and the best part is she likes it 'as is'.

Very nice, worked on a few of those. No idea what oil company but they change colors every so often so... Wayne makes pumps for Mobil, Sunoco, BP, Chevron.

Vic's 66 used to be a great source for gas pump stuff. I know he sold out to someone not too long ago. Maybe if you look on line you can find out who.

I would love an old globe type pump to restore. They are WAY out of my price range right now though. I'm guessing that's a 60's era pump. (Gas was $.28 - .32 when we moved south in 1971.) In 1981 it was still only $.58 so maybe its a 70's era.

Great find and I must admit, I'm a bit jealous!

We were changing 3 wheel heads(.49 cents) to 4 wheel heads(.99 cents) in the late 70s early 80s.

Cool old pump! Now you need one of those bells with the long rubber hose that will ding when someone drives up to it.
I will be bringing the family vehicles to your house to fill up at 49 cents per gallon. I need to get your address, and do I just pull into the backyard or ?:lol_hitti
