This just popped up for sale locally, no specifics in description and no other pics. Looks like a very interesting, unique design (totally flat "anvil" area, dovetail shaped front jaw guide). Any idea what it is? Thanks fellas!

Those cabinets are cool too. Can't go wrong for $65, if it is still available. (It's just a little too far away to be convenient).

Wartime era tools and small parts chest. Postwar they made the handles swing down out of the way when not in use. The butcher block top has been spray-bombed but that looks like original paint on the cabinet itself. Highly desirable as a user and for WWII buffs. Several on the 'Metal cabinets' thread (search on "41-C-15" - its FSN), most recently @Mr. Wonderful, and one in my basement. :)

I saw that ad yesterday, just a few minutes after it posted and got that, "REPLY NOW!!" feeling, knowing you have to act fast to be first in line and figuring it would not take long for it to get snatched up. The 41-C-15 tool chest I found (a few miles from here for $50) came with an Atlas 618 lathe on top. I replied right away and the seller got flooded with responses after mine, but luckily, they put me first in line.

As Steven Right would say, "you can't have everything... where would you put it?" Plus, for me, it would have involved a 2-way ferry ride and city traffic. I'd have passed even if it was free.

That's hilarious this ad came up here so quick.

I also saw your red/grey Craftsman box listed locally. That made me chuckle. Small world. :)

Ya that one didn't sell at my garage sale. I'll probably list it separately on CL.

Wow, I guess I came to the right place! The amount of knowledge and info on this forum is insane! Thanks everyone. I've messaged the seller but they are pretty busy in the middle of a move, so coordinating a time to meet is pretty tough. Also, it sounds like there's a lot of interest, so it may not work out. If it does, the vise will be a little restoration project for me, I'll post updates. Probably won't need the cabinet (my cup overfloweth with toolchests as is) so if I end up getting them, I'll probably put the cabinet back up for sale for a reasonable price.
