Have these bolts on a isuzu box truck at work and neither my snap-on dealer or the other techs at the shop have any idea what the proper tool for these are. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you that looks like just the tool for the job better than the welded on nut I had to install

Those are tamper resistant spanner heads. This is the bit to use...

You can buy those bits in the cheap security sets for under $15. Harbor Freight has them and I got mine at Carquest/Advance Auto.

Looks like I'm going to order the proper tool and pick up one of the adjustable spanners. Thank you all for the help

The proper tool, here is a Dremel and cut-off wheel. Create a slot, fetch your favorite screwdriver.

I've cracked those types by putting 2 pin punches in the holes and a piece of flat bar between them and prying. Worked great on my motorcycle brake calipers.

They are not really tamper proof screws , most angle grinders use the same idea with the lock nut and the supplied wrench.

Have these nuts on Agco farm equipment and the special wrench is a 18" piece of flat bar with 2 really strong pins welded on it. As mentioned there is a proper Kent-Moore tool for the Isuzu/GMC's

What i have used over the years if the nuts are not too tight is a Snap-on A176 differential adjusting wrench. Used to be chrome now black

Almost all small surface grinders use this sort of nut to hold the grinding wheel on the spindle and a fixed distance pin spanner is used. The case the OP presented is to keep the average owner from doing the work that requires a special tool, keeps the dealer mechanics billing hours filled. The adjustable pin spanners that others have suggested should work just fine if the pins fit.
