Hello Everyone. For those of you installing a lift like the MaxJax, has anyone had trouble pounding the anchors into their concrete? I drilled the first hole out 5/8' and then finished it with a 7/8" bit (as required but the anchor instructions) and cleaned the hole out with air but it was very very difficult to get the anchor into the concrete. I ended up bending the sacrificial bolt and 2 others pushing the cut off anchor remains through the slab.

Are these supposed to be that hard to drive in to the concrete??

How do you know if the hole is too small? I doubt that a 7/8" concrete bit is going to vary that much from one manufacturer.

I've not run into the problem you have inquired about. Have you checked the size with another bit? Might give them a call and see if others have had similar experiences and see what they recommend.

I work at a conveyor company and we wej-it a lot of things to concrete floors. When the hammer drill bits wear out they drill smaller holes. This is most likely your problem. The bits are difficult to measure because the two points of carbide on the end a cut a an angle. But worn out bits will drill smaller holes than new bits.

regguy1, I did drill all the way through the slab and was able to force the anchor through but after a lot of hammering and cutting the anchor in half and hammering the remains through the slab.

gcan, did you end up damaging the sacrificial bolt? Did you damage the threads of the wej-it? I'm worried if I wail on it that the threads will get damaged. I may try a new bit to be on the safe side...

when you started pounding the bolt head , was it snug to the anchour?..........i do that till it is just flush then back the bolt out for desired depth.........less chance of damaging the threads.............and a new bit is cheap insurance............
