what the heck is a lista?????

Sorry, too many words

let me try again....

What is lista?

Sounds like an american trying to communicate to an immigrant worker...."here's a lista of what i wanta done.

You obviously need to do some marketing to make your name recognizable.
I'll google i when i'm done here.

Wow. A three page thread with no information on what 'Lista' is? I see in post #26 somebody said furniture. Also see several comments that it's expensive. And the OP is 'loving' this thread.

Yes, I can Google. But why would somebody start a promotional thread without telling what they're trying to sell?

Maybe it's some insider thing that newbies like me aren't allowed to know. But if it's something you're trying to sell, it's a pretty poor pitch- and the ensuing secret-keepers aren't helping...:dunno:

All I can do is add my own three words, by initials:

W T F?

Lista makes VERY nice cabinets, toolboxes and workstations typically seen in industrial applications. They are considered top of the line and the price shows that.
My 3 words- Quality, variety, cool:beer:

Good morning,
I'm sorry that I didn't explain more. I should have taken the whole audience into account and not those who have responded to some of my older threads. Lista makes customizable workbenches, cabinets, toolboxes, etc. We manufacture here in Holliston and since the guys on here had been asking for photos of the plant I thought I'd let them know that that will finally be happening.
I'd be happy to answer any of your questions.

I will start another thread, but the people at customer service were awesome when I was in a bind.

Looked it up on FB and Pinterest as you posted . Wow, that's some awesome stuff. It looks to me that it's for the rich and famous crowd. My shop is not worthy . This is nicer than what I have in my house. I bet the price list for a package set would have a lot of 000000000000000000 in it. Sharp, colorful, and appealing. I guess Harbor Freight is not one of your distributors. thanks for sharing L@L. Good Luck,

I think Lista's are great. I like the drawers better on the Lista's vs. the Vidmar's. They seem to be built stronger at least in my opinion and the sides are full height. I do like both Lista and Vidmar though. I would much rather spend the money if I had it on a new Lista/Vidmar/Lyon/Equipto vs. a KRL or EPIQ. The cabinets cost too much for me new being a homeowner but I'm always looking for them used. It seems I can get better deals used on used Lista's vs. Vidmar's for some reason.

I can't find a picture of my Lista right now but here is a Vidmar I just recently obtained used. Figured I share it since Lista/Vidmar are now one. Somehow the wife was willing to help me get it in the basement down a flight of stairs.

One thing that I have always wondered about is the newer cabinets use plastic rollers on some parts think they are called POM. I do wonder about their long term durability though. I would prefer all metal with bearings.

I really hope Stanley keeps selling both brands.

Thanks so much for your post. There is a true "proudness" behind the owners of either of these brands and no one can ever change that. In your opinion, is either of the brands innovative or do they mostly just sell the basics?

On a personal side, I'm going to be the soon to be wife who buys her husband a toolbox. :)

In my opinion alone I think the Tool truck boxes are a status symbol for some. Nothing wrong with that. I think the truck brands are more of like a Coach brand purse and the Lista/vidmar more like a canvas bag. I want the canvas bag not a coach bag. I think of these parts cabinets are more utilitarian but super heavy duty and strong and 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. The Snap-on/Mac/Matco have more bling/chrome on them and offer more colors. I also think the tools truck boxes are easier for some to buy new as the driver drops it off for them and they can make weekly payments with financing.

Your husband is going to be one lucky guy! That is awfully nice of you. Get him the one with the 440 pound drawer slides not the more basic 165 pound ones. It's a guy thing....

Thanks for the tip ;) and the feedback! I'll definitelly get the 440. Now it's just figuring out how big of a toolbox one man actually needs.

To all, feel free to share your Vidmar feedback as well, as rhastings80 put it "Lista/Vidmar are now [under] one [roof]." *edits are mine

However, I wanted to begin and ask all of you the three words that come to mind when you hear or think the word "Lista."

Well, now that I've seen Linda's picture, she will be one of the first things I think of when I hear the word Lista from now on...

As far as "How big of a toolbox does one man need"? How big is the shop? That ought to be about big enough...

I ordered Lista for our tool room at work. Price was great and quality is top notch. I give props to our local Lista rep (Charles) for taking good care of use. We had a damaged unit arrive (shipping issue) and he had a new one sent out the next day. We have had them for just over a year now without an issue.

Here's a sneak peek of Friday's photos! Today Lista is being visited by a film crew! Soon you will see more footage of our manufacturing facility on the Cool Tools show on the DIY Network! I'll let you know when our episode airs!
