Hey all, I've been lurking for a bit, but just am getting around to post.
I've been living in the same house in Cary, NC (between Raleigh and Chapel Hill) for 16 years with my family and the 22x20 attached garage has maybe been able to fit a car in it for at least a month out of those 16 years!
Most of the time its jam packed with tools, kids toys, sports equipment, lumber, pieces and parts and other ****. The homes around here don't have much attic space and don't have basements so there's some general storage going on here too. Wow. What a cluster.....
I do a little woodworking and a little automotive work as hobbies on the side, but the garage is not fit for use of either. I've gone through just about every garage fad in trying to clean it up but it just got worse. About a year ago, I got fed up enough that I took down everything from the walls, broke down all the shelving and started from scratch. I've put up some really nice MDF cabinets that span a whole wall, bought some hi-loft storage for above the garage door, scored 6 4x8 sheets of slatwall from Cragslist and I've built a few storage carts for tools and lumber. I've gotten some inspiration from here lately (damn you RedLeader and your rattle cans of flat black paint) and am even thinking about restoring old tools since I've seen some really nice ones on here.
Well, I'm looking forward to posting around with all of you here.
