OK so after two or three weeks of deciding to post or not I figured why not. This is my man cave/escape all. I call it the dog house because if I spend time or money on it I end up in the DOG HOUSE. Its just a little 12x24 or so not much to look at, don't even have a concrete floor. when I moved in to the house with my girlfriend you couldn't even make it through the door due to the box's and trash. I cleaned it up some (still in progress) and put power to the place. I built a work bench out of old store shelving, I wish I would have took pics of the process. So this is the place after I breathed some life in to it!

Hopefully this will be a ongoing thing and you can watch the Dog House develop in to a man cave and take on diy projects.

The lines are 20 to 30 yards away. The lines where blowing in the wind and I thought they was grabbing them.

I saw the "flying man" and thought the same things. I guess we're all a little bit crazy in the same way...

Nice Dog House!

So what's your plan for it, Joe?

Sounds like you're trying to improve it without spending much on it(?) I like the open stud spaces and even though I don't have that anymore I've saved a few cool pictures of what others have posted here. Hope they give you some inexpensive ideas, Dan

EDIT: What I like about using the stud space like this is you can do this for free! Just keep a lookout for pallets you can use for the raw materials.

You guys are a lot more observant than me............. Do you own the property? If so, you can fix it up as time and money is available and make a nice place out of that. The part that concerns my is what you said about spending time or money on the garage. You may want to think about that because that doesn't get better with time.

I'm trying to get the most functionality out of it for the least amount of money. I'm definitely going to build the pallet shelves!

We do not own the place it is her uncle's place but we plan on being here for the next few years. I'm 23 and buying a house is in the tail end of a 5 yr plan. She can't complain to much about time and money. I'm the only one in the household that works and we never go with out.

Oh good. Glad you liked the ideas. You'll need a small table saw trip the lumber, OR if you've got a HELLUVA lot steadier hand than I do you can do this with a sharp handsaw.

Since not too many things come in glass bottles anymore but maybe babyfood, hopefully you have or have friends that have little ones. The other idea I've thought of is not using clear containers. Use tin cans. Just cover them in cheap solid color contact paper and write the name of the item you're storing on the outside. Won't look quite as good but it'll get you maxi organized for little or no money.

I have a child not quite to the baby food yet but the jars are definitely going to be saved!
