Weld Pak 155 problem finally fixed

In my previous post I had described how my Lincoln Weld Pak 155 would work great one minute but the next it wouldn't strike an arc, the wire would just glow red then melt. I received many great ideas and tips and tried them all as far as possible. In the end I took it in to my local welding supply store where they diagnosed the problem as the copper mesh? inside the wire feed cable/gun had worn through at the machine end. After installing a new cable/gun my welder is up and running better than it has for a long time.
Moral of the story, use big loops when storing the gun and never use it to move the welder/cart into position.
I would be interested in seeing how others store their cables.

I just hang my cables over the top of the tank. Big loops no problem. I make sure I never step on the gun cable, keep it as straight as possible with no loops or twists, and never pull it. Even storing with a tighter loop, no twists.
