Welder advice please

I will be replacing my Miller Mig that was stolen from me last August. I want a Tig but the mig is so darn fast I have a serious quandary hear.

Is there such a thing as a combination set up that will have both machines in one?

my budget is around 4 grand.

The majority of the work it will do is steel however I would sure like to be able to get into some aluminum and stainless fab/repair once in awhile.

My used Synchrowave 250DX with cooler ran me about $2100 and my used Millermatic 250X was about $900. Keep your eye out on craigslist, local eBay, and other classified ads and I'm sure you can put together a combination for under $4K.

Ar there combination machines ... yup. Is that what you really want? that's the real question. If you're using C25 for mig, then have to swap over to pure Ar for tig .... unless there's a significant cost difference between having two machines and a combo, I'd want two machines. If nothing else, it offers the advantage of backup in case one fails.

you can get a good mig for just over 1k, so theres 3k for a tig, id just buy two different units

MM 252 for $2K and an old Syncrowave. I put together a Sync 300 w/ cooler, soup to nuts for less than $1K.

I would also want 2 separate machines in most cases, small migs are very competitive in cost, not a lot of gain to complicate matters into one unit.

I dunno, i have a precision tig 225 with a mig runner package on it and i like it. I don't need to store 2 machines somewhere, and it has a dual bottle cart so I don't have to switch bottles.

You can pick up used Lincoln LN-25 wire feeders for about a grand without trying to hard which will let you pick up a decent inverter tig welder and be set.

I have both mig and tig welders and to tell you truth, I think after running a new miller 350P the other day, it would do 98% of what I want to do with out having 2 machines. Unless you need to weld some thing other than SS, steel, or AL. ( or really thin AL <18 gauge) it's the bee's knees. The pulsed spray on the AL ran sooooo nice..... single or 3 phase and plenty of power. At a list price of $4600 you should be able to get one for under $4k and I have more than that into my mig tig machines...
