I don't have enough lifetime to master all 3. I work on my wire welding skills.

Multi process machines only do all 3 so so.

I love my Miller 215 so far. But if I were to do things differently, I'd get a good brand 240v MIG and a cheaper AC/DC TIG, so that I'd have aluminum welding capabilities. I don't anticipate using stick in the 215 if I have flux core available.

All of my stuff is MIG lately anyways. I'd spend the money on the welder that you will be using the most.

Find a Lincoln Tombstone off Cl or at auction, should get it for about $150, give or take.

Then pick out a nice 240V Hobart, Miller or if you like red, Lincoln MIG welder.

Spend the rest of your $$ on a nice auto-dark helmet.

Once you have learned on both of them, find yourself a TIG and learn some more.

To each their own, but that's my opinion.

If you can do all three already, quite well, you're probably asking the wrong crowd here as you should know which one to buy as you already have the experience.

Caveat: weekend warrior, but lot of fab experience

I have had a Hobart 150amp MIG for 35 years. Recently decided to add TIG, and also wanted to quit using my Dad's ARC when I needed it, so I bought the Primeweld 225 amp for $775. Got it off Amazon, but price is same direct from Primeweld. Can't post a link, I'm a new guy

I am really liking so many features of this welder: 3yr, no shipping warranty; 24/7 US based English support; knobs, not menus; EURO connectors (use any leads you like); CK Worldwide Flex torch; knobs color coded to show TIG relationships; strong duty cycle; etc. For $775, I think it's a really good option.

I tell my friends "it's a high end Chinese machine". Gives them a laugh, but it's true.

He's not the OP, sounds like that WAS a welder suggestion... Steve

Thanks I missed that.

Op I just got the everlast 251. 1550 delivered I think. Only two things I have found I don’t like is only one gas connection and no chart in the door for recommended settings.
It’s big. With a big roll of wire it’s heavy. Building a new cart due to its size. Leaving space for the tig water cooler.
Not a small price but for this size it’s good. Oh and you get everything minus tungsten and filler rod to start tig. Not a lot of other multi process include the torch and a foot pedal so figure that in your cost

I would get the primeweld 225 Tig welder and look for a used mig machine myself. Otherwise there are plenty of mig welders that are 200 amp or so machines in the 6-800$ range. There are several 3 in 1 machines, which are great, but limit you as far as Tig welding goes.

I thought the AHP Alphatig was the GJ go to for high end chinese tig machines?

You guys better make up your minds. I’m getting a tig soon. This is important!

The primeweld offers a lot more than the AHP. CK torch, 25 more amps, better duty cycle and better customer service

I have been eyeing up the Everlast 275 since it is multi(mig, tig, stick) and can be setup to weld aluminum with mig.

Primeweld with its new pedal and CK torch makes it a pretty good deal at $775.

Almost every welder on the website is "Out of Stock" I'm not sure they are still producing machines or not

They ship from China and are frequently backordered anyhow. I’m sure the way everything has been recently has negatively affected restocking.

I would recommend Miller over all other brands. In my opinion they maintain a very precise voltage and amperage which is critical. But if you are looking for an off brand at a good price check out the websight Alibaba. They have welders of really high quality and function ability for about a 5th the price you would pay at the retail stores because they are factory direct orders. They cater to the individual or the business. If you buy twenty welders you can get them for around thirty dollars a piece and a single would be about 40 as an example. The carry Miller and Lincoln as well as off brands with very good ratings and reviews⁸
