anyone know any quick diagnosing on a lincoln welder? I have a 255 with the digital output. When I turn it on the display comes on but I am unable to adjust anything. also when I hit the trigger nothing happens.

Same thing happened to one of ours and we ended up having to replace the whole board, it wasn't cheap. If you had someone local who was good with electronics they could probably figure out which board components were bad. Good luck.

if one component on the board is bad, then the board is bad. there's no telling whether another part's failure caused that one, or whatever.

get the code # off the machine, go to lincoln's service navigator and you should be able to find the PN for the board, if it's still available.

here's the link to the extranet w the service navigator. it does take their site a few seconds to load
