I looked at the first few posts here https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/used-lincoln-ac-225-5-stick-welder.482531/

A good friend gave me some info and linked to a current "Lincoln Electric AC225™ Stick Welder K1170" as "similar."

Family member "has a Lincoln welder that uses the sticks (no gas) bought 45yrs ago to weld a fence for our pasture when we lived in <town>."

Questions: can I use a reasonable extension cord to get outside? My 240 is in an add-on room.

I use flux wire at home on a 120 machine. It gets gates done.

Value?

I started of my career in heavy machinery construction with just the same 225 Lincoln. We used it virtually every day for 25 years. Sometimes when building up a worn part, we would weld for over an hour straight. It never let us down. After I got richer, I bought 2 Lincoln 400-amp welders for a couple shops. I kept the little 225 next to the 400. Over half the time my men welded, they went back to the 225. When I retired, I took the little Lincoln and have it in my garage. Used it 3 times this week alone.
