Yes ,a stick welder. Nothing to big just for personal use. One son is starting welder school and I just started welding a little on my job site , so I thought we could get some practice in at home.

if you live in a rural area farm and home stores run them on sale frequently. if your looking for used craigslist is your friend, they will be local and shipping would kill a good deal quickly.

Used stick welders are for sale ALL the time. Get one cheap and get the feel of it and upgrade your gear as you learn the trade and what is good equipment and what processes you plan to use.
