Welding a O2 sensor bung onto my exhaust pipe?

I have a steel exhaust pipe and an O2 sensor bung that should be welded at the collector.

I've drilled the hole for where it will be welded, but the bung itself is not steel. It must be aluminum, or stainless because a magnet won't stick to it.

So, how do I weld this thing given the two metal types?

its it aluminum you can't weld it to steel
if stainless just weld it on with what ever welder you have using a steel filler/wire/electrode

An alternative... I used a spark plug non-fouler from the Help! section of the parts store for my O2 sensor bung. Just cut off the long part to leave the threads.

Since it's stainless you're good to go on welding it.
I'm normally one of the "make your own" guys. If you have the correct ID/OD tubing & tap it wouldn't take long to make your own bung.
Sidenote.... make sure not to locate the bung low on the pipe if it's in a horizontal run.
