My welding blanket is sheading fibers. It is all over the place. It is a newer made in china blanket. Does these fibers pose any health hazards for humans?

I got it all over the place as it shed so much. I'm going to try and use a shop vac to get rid of it.

The cheapest fiberglass blankets are known for this. Better ones are coated and won’t shed as much. I bought the felt blanket for more money because I did not want to deal with fiberglass.

Would you feel comfortable breathing in shards of glass?

No that is why I'm getting rid of the blanket and have a clean up job. The threads of glass are all over and difficult to clean up. They floated in the air and dispersed.

It's probably on the shelf for a long long time or something cheap material being used by your vendor/manufacturer brand....

I have few of the HF version from almost 10 years ago when I first started DIY things... it's still fine. itches when I hug it to fold it. but otherwise fine.

I had this same comment on here a couple of yrs ago. I gave it a good shake outside to get all the lose fibers blown out. It's a lot better and don't notice it so much anymore. BCD.
