It's a decent helmet. I have a $400 Jackson NexGen, but I much prefer my HTP hood.

Any reputable brand auto-darkening hood should work fine for you with MIG and stick welding. If you ever plan to TIG, then I would recommend a higher end hood because some of the cheaper models have a hard time sensing a lower current arc.
