Welding helmet decision

Need help with this one. My wife bought me a new harbor frieght AD welding hood for Christmas. It is just like the one that I have been using with no issues for the past 2 years. I was surprised and thought I can use the older rough hood for stick welding and use the new one for Mig. I was happy with that until I stumbled across a speedglass 9000V used in good shape for $70. Should I go look at the speedglass and get a really nice hood for the same money I would get back for returning the harbor freight hood or just stick with the one she bought me and not risk making her upset? I have been looking at the speedglas hoods for a while now but never could justify the expense but for $70 its hard to pass up. What would everyone else do?

i value anything i get from the wife.
she bought me one of those cheap skull hoods 13 years ago when we 1st got together. i still have it, and still use it.
couple years ago she saw me using it, and was surprised that i still had it, and actually used it.

i'd keep it.
let her use it to watch you weld.

GET THE SPEEDGLASS!! She should understand. put it in purse terms to her, "you have the walmart purse now, and for the same price can get the louis vuitton one"

$70 is an extremely good deal. I got mine for $220, I love my speedglas helmet I would recommend this brand to everyone.

I say get the speedglass. I highly value my eyesight and do not trust it to anything but the best. That's the way I look at it.

+1 on this.... When I bought my new Miller helmet, I told the wife that the kids could watch and learn with the old helmet. That is a steal of a deal on a Speedglass

Get the speedglass and keep the HF...
