What do y’all with long hair do when you’re welding? Every time I lean forward, the hood slips off. Really annoying.

I got a new hard hat with a chin strap, but haven’t found a welding hood with one yet 😂

What does long hair have to do with your hood coming off? I have short hair and it is still clamped to my head on my hair.

Funny--64-year-old long-haired wierdo hippie freak here, and I've never had that problem. Last had a haircut in '89, so I have some experience working with long hair.

Hair's always tied back in a ponytail when working, of course. Saw a kid get his hair tangled in a metal lathe back in HS shop class. He was strong enough to keep from getting his face pulled into the four-jaw chuck, but got about half-scalped.

The guys saying beanie, welding cap or backwards cap are spot on...I favor the beanie or thin buff (gator). My welding hood slips if I don't, also messes up my pony tail and I get fly aways. It's annoying.

I cut my hair when I became a welder due to frequent fires. Nothing like the acrid smell of burning hair to interrupt your concentration.

For half the world's population having long hair is the norm.
I fought that battle over a fifty year period starting in the mid sixties and didn’t give up until a few years ago.

Nice to have the welding helmet stay on, and not to run over one’s hair with the creeper.

Same with facial hair. Nice to not be eternally itchy.
