How are you viewing the line your supposed travel ... all I see is the puddle.

Practice. Practice. Practice. Believe me, that was the hardest part for me to learn. I'd weld a bead, raise the helmet and realize I'm an inch away from where I wanted to be...lol. A good helmet really helps to learn.

Are you using an auto darkening helmet? I learned to weld many years ago without an auto helmet and struggled mightily to get the start of the need where it was supposed to be. Just got a little mig and an auto dark helmet - like magic :) my welds still ****, but at least I'm starting in the right place!

HF wire well what can I say you get what you pay for. I can see some wetting out of the weld, that is good. Wire feed may be a bit high for the speed of travel.

Just a word that flux **** rubs off, can contaminate the path it travels, residue.

Clean the material you are welding, learn the habit, use the habit no matter what, shiny and wipe it down with acetone. Welding is problem solving, I see three small ones right off.

That said my welder is by far the best tool I have, so many doors open when one acquires the skill. It is not that hard, but it is important to pay attention to details.

Found a good supply or remnants to play with, so going to be doing something at least daily. Got the Cart all wired up so only one plug to worry about. Plug is the orange wire on the right.

Thanks all for the help ... much appreciated
