My son built me a welding table in High School shop class. After 15 years he has a shop so I built him one. Nothing fancy, but his design has worked well for me.

Nice, that will work. Yes the picture thing does not cooperate with me either.
You could use receiver tube for the vise and other goodies too. Some like a solid vise on the table depending what you use it for. Great job. :beer:

Thanks. I thought about the receiver tube vise, but in the end I use the vise as often as anything else so I left it on there.

Thanks for the nice comments. I think he'll really be surprised. Yeah, how to put it under the tree is a problem. Actually how to get it in his shop with out him knowing is a problem. We have fresh snow so the tracks will make it even harder.
