Reviewing the nice table in the recent built post. Is it OK to put the gas bottle under the table you intend to work on from a safety standpoint? I know it may be a pain to get to. I want all welding stuff and table contained in one area.

By gas bottle I assume your talking CO2 or argon? If so then yes. But are you just getting little R tanks(40cuft) or something? A 125/150 cuft cylinder cost the same to just 5$ more most place to refill as a little tank.

I would not place my acetylene or oxygen tank under any bench.

My opinion is as long as you aren't striking an arc to the actual gas bottle its fine.

Showering the flex hose with sparks/slag/dross is probably more detrimental than anything else. The regulator lenses probably don't like that either.

I just want to clarify one thing. Is this question built on Toms table build?

Specify gas and tank size. Which welding operations are we planning? Photos are always helpful. Is this what you are considering?

This isn't ideal because changing cylinders sizes is clumsy. It adds another bend to your gun liner for extra feeding problems.
