I bought a welding table at a garage sale and I've been trying to figure out how much it weighs. In measuring the table top at several different places, it measures 1-5/8". I've found weights for 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" per foot, but nothing for 1-5/8. Am I measuring it wrong?

Is the top solid? If so just do a volume calculation and then multiply by 0.284 lb/in^3 (density of steel) to get the weight.

BA: if you just mentioned the actual dimensions ZK or one of the engineers would have maybe told you it's weight. i'm guessing it's not a 4 x 8, but posting a few pictures with your dimensions would help you learn and we all want to see a steel table that thick.

how did you haul it home and then get it off your trailer or truck and then move it? what is your plan for it or did you just need a nice solid bench?

I would guess that if you averaged the 1.5" and 1.75" weights, that you would get pretty close to the 1.625" weight.

The table top is going to be a fraction of the whole table weight anyway.
