good basic bench. Go as thick as you can afford on the top.
I'd also add some sort of flip up cutting grate and locking castors. Just do a google "image" search for "welding table" and see what you get.

Yea, the grate looks like it is a drop in. So you could change it out easy when is wore out. I might make it bigger for less chance to cut into the table top.
