Welding Tank

Hey. I have a spare air compressor with a bum compressor, tank is in good shape. I was thinking about pulling off the pump and using it as a gas tank for the welder.

Any thoughts on this?

If I can't find a use for it it's getting chopped for scrap.

I don't think they are the same tanks for Gas Cylinders, dependents on what gas they might be more than what your "tank" can handle.

Not to mention if any gas supplier would refill your tank....

Good point. I never thought about the supplier. Maybe I've had too much to drink tonight....

Probably not a good idea.

Most people have a good compressor pump with a rusted out tank. Craigslist is your friend.

Smelting furnace... that is what I am doing with the old water heater. at least planning for the past years... hope I can build it before it rusts out.
