I lurk here a lot, and also on Welding Web forum. I was away for a week, and came back and couldnt get on welding web, I get a "forbidden" message that comes up. I tried it on my phone also, and my work computer and get the same thing. Im just curious if they closed down, or I did something wrong in my setting somehow. Has anyone else had this same experience? Thanks.

IDK, but there is more info about this on a few other forums. I don't know if it would be proper to post alink to another forum, but if you google around for it, or find the Welding thread on TBN or ShopFloor, forum, you can find out more.
I did read that the Penton Media hosts many forums, so if you are unable to get on HVAC-talk, chances are that they were affected by this, as well.

Penton has many forums that are dead. Latest info is they are working on it but doesn't know what the outcome will be. There is a post about this on the Miller forum. So sad.

I had that problem also, luckily I had emailed a mod sometime before and had his email add in my contacts, was able to get him to let me in. If they (WW) return I can pass that along to you

My password for welding web is 4 times more secure than I use for my online banking... It's kind of silly to have a forum that tight.

Nevermind, I just figured out that they we're only able to recover history up to June 2017. I joined after that, so that's why it doesn't know who I am

Old thread, but their site ***** for signing up. I've tried multiple time but it keeps telling me all my answers are wrong. Either I have reverted back to a less than 3rd grade education or their site is severely broken. I've emailed them, but to no avail...

Welding web site has always been a disaster.
Lots of good information over there
But unfortunately a lot of it was lost in the last hack/crash whatever.
They really need somebody competent to take over that place.

It's down again. A shame, if you ask a question sometimes about a welder, you'll get an answer involving the welder's circuitry. Well beyond the red or blue answer. And over my head.
