Here is my new garage. The downstairs contains 1,200 sf centrally heated and cooled with vct flooring. The upstairs is a finished loft containing approximately 600 sf which is also centrally heated and cooled.

The garage has 200 amp power with 220 available in the garage. I used 18 can lights but do not feel like I have enough. Anyway, this project was started prior to hurricane Ivan and I am just now getting finished.

I am glad I found this site, I never knew there were guys out there that enjoyed their garages as much as I did.

Regards,

RHM

I have some Gladiator Garage Works stuff on order that I am going to install along with my existing tool boxes, etc... I am going to see how the lighting is once I get everything setup.

If I find the lighting deficient I will add lights for specific work areas like over the workbench, sides, etc... At this point I am going to just enjoy it for a while. The Gladiator stuff is two weeks out and I am in no hurry. I am just glad to be finished with the project, I started in August then Ivan blew through and put everything on a standstill for a couple of months.

I don't even have a sports car to park in the garage at present. I've owned three 911's in the past but have three teenagers driving now so I am waiting till they get weaned then it is back to sports cars again.

I did buy a Suzuki DRZ 400 and 250 for my son and I to ride. Those will reside in the new garage along with my 03 Chevy truck. I have another detached garage that my wife parks her Honda Odyssey and CRV in. In addition to that, I have a 4 stall barn with three sides on it, that is where the kids park there cars.

Regards to all,

Hello Hot Rod:

No, I didn't do the floor myself. I got the name of an installer who charged me $.50 per sf. He got here today (Sunday 3/13) around 8:00 am and was out the door by 12:00. He also installed the base mold and put a small amount of roll vinyl in a bathroom I have in another detached garage. Basically it cost me $600.00 to have the floor layed and another $100.00 for the sheet vinyl in the other garage for a total of $700.00.

I was happy to pay it. I am in Pensacola and all the contractors are extremely busy due to work from hurrican Ivan. They got here when they said they would and did a great job.

Regards,

Hello Lucky:

I see you are in Fl so you probably got some dust up from some of the hurricanes too. All the floor is vct. I actually miscalculated how much yellow border I would need and was 6 tiles short on yellow. I had the "T" the blue. I am now trying to decide whether to go ahead and order the additional yellow tiles or just leave the blue "T" in.

Beautifull garage. Great start. I would of used 2x2 groups of colors instead of every other one but is still a sharp looking space you got!!!
