Hey guys,

I appreciate the garage model quote sanity check feedback everyone provided a few weeks back. I ended up moving forward and boy are things moving quickly.

Ceiling torn down and concrete cut/dug/reinforced/re-poured last week for the lift and today the lumber arrived to raise the ceiling roughly 4 feet.

Next obstacle is how to handle the door in the lift bay. Original idea was to convert to existing doors to high rise tracks with torsion bar and wall mounted openers. Why that shouldn't be an issue on the right side, I foresee this being an issue on the left side. The left side ceiling when raised will actually taken on a vaulted look as it has to follow the contours of the roof on that side (new joists will be sitting roughly 3 feet above existing joists in the picture) . Realistically the bottom of the vault will start roughly 12" above the LVL where the plastic sheet is nailed to. That doesn't give a lot of additional real estate to raise the garage tracks which makes me worry I will not be able to open the garage with a car on the lift that is going in that bay.

I have 140" from front garage wall to the door and I'm installing a Challenger CL10V3 lift.

Bottom of existing joists is exactly 11' off the floor.

Thought/opinions on how to make this work or you think I'll be okay?

Negative. I was persuaded to change plans because there is some duct work in the other bay that could not be easily relocated.
