Finaly got my Wells band saw back together. Just a quick degreasing, new guide bearings and blade.

This thing was orginally built in 1953

Did some one weld that strange looking pipe on it? That doesn't look original for that model saw. That's a model 54?? isn't it?

I had a 58b and now I have a 1016 great saws all of them.....

Edit

It looks like the pipe is part of the backbone of the saw and so it must be a different model than the 54

Looking at the Wells Saw website, it appears to be their very first model.....
