Wells Index Serial Number

Does anyone know if the serial number in a Wells Index 747VS vertical mill can be located anywhere other than the model number plate. The plate on a friend's machine is covered by electrical boxes.

The data plate on my 847 is located on the left side of the main casting (left as you are facing the machine from the table side) about halfway up from the base and halfway from front-to-back.

The are very helpful. I bought a handwheel and an x-axis nut from them recently.

An internet search should still find a manual with parts list and brochure.

Ebay has the parts manual and owners manual at times.
